Hey guys! I had enough of my source files laying about that I thought I'd show how I constructed Performance worthy of Ink!
This image was helped at nearly every step of the way by my greatest friend, so I owe it to her that it saw completion!
It started out with the initial sketch which was very ambitious:
I wanted the sisters balancing themselves on each other and doing that signature hand thing they did in the official art. Problem was the poses here are just too unbalanced. They look like they'll fall over! Plus Marie what is even your head.
Against better wishes I redid the bottom half of the image and it turned into this:
The lower half now looks pretty great but the arms are still kind of strange. At this point my friend suggested switching which arms were holding the mics. This decision pretty much saved the image from staying a sketch forever.
Now the image looked like this and was shaping up nice:
As I was inking I decided against mirroring the hand poses and needed to shorten the arms to feel more proportional towards the drawing.
Inks ended up like this:
And from there I constructed the colors, background, and everything you see in the final product!
Now normally I'd love to say I did this all in the first shot but heaven knows I even knew where to begin drawing Callie or Marie.
You all saw this one posted in my sketchbook (Or at least I hope you did! Subscribe to my sketches! They're worthy of science!)
That was the first ever attempt to draw Callie. It was great for a first attempt and showed promise!
And then something happened and I lost it.
This happened:
Then this happened:
Both were supposed to lead into the final image's setup but that obviously never happened. I learned some invaluable things with those sketches though, which all translated to the final image.
Anyway thanks for taking the time to read and look at this! As time goes on I might do this more pending interest and pending available resources. I tend to work several hours without saving so I'll easily start an image and be done with flat colors before I save the first postable incarnation.

Just as a reminder I am appearing at TrotCon 2015 THIS WEEKEND! Find me here!

I can't make polls but I can make prints.
I have a neverending supply of band-aids.
Hello again! I have a quick question, and some news!
----------
One
Splatoon 2 has come out and introduced some new characters. Marina and Pearl. I would like to do a print but I have a quick question for you folks.
A: Only Marina
B: Only Pearl
C: Marina and Pearl
Which would you like to see? I'd like to do a sequel to my `Performance worthy of Ink` image. Similar style/vein. I am personally leaning towards only Marina.

Two
Bronycon is inbound! Expect to see me in the Artist Alley this year with a full table. I'll be there with my father and hope to bring some good stuff.
Returning to normality.
Dusts off DA page.

Some small updates! It's about time I get away from my hibernation and post some stuff again.
I am going to be posting a few pieces at their full resolution very soon. I usually work at absurd resolutions and feel like some of these should be posted up. I will be notifying watchers what images get updated. Please be aware none of them should have any visual changes they're just bigger.
I'm still taking commissions. If you want info please visit this journal post here:
I'd really love to afford a Switch soon :>
I will be discussing Convention plans soon. Right now I don't know if I will appear at v
